  • The text I entered does not appear in the preview (or in the card I sent).
  • The first thing to check is that the color of the text you selected has enough contrast relative to the color background you selected.
  • I tried to select my own color using the "Color Selector" box, but cannot get it to work.
  • Click on the link "Color Selector" and use the bar on the right to select a color range. Once the right range appears on the large box on the left, you can select the exact color you want by placing the cursor (which appears as a circle) over the color. Once it is over the color you'd like, click on the X to close the color selector box. The color you chose should appear on the sample card.
  • I type text in the message area, but it does not appear on the preview to the right.
  • You can view the text with the image by clicking on the "Preview My Card" link. The card will appear on your screen for you to proof. Select X in the upper right corner to close the preview. The small sample on the Make a Card page will show your color choice, but will not show your text since the space is so small.
  • I want to send a card, but I want to send it anonymously.
  • One of the key features of Here Comes the Card is that the card arrives from an individual, not from a card company. All cards sent come from the member (and the email address the member designates), we cannot send anonymous cards.
  • The person I am sending a card to is unable to view images in their email browser—how will the card appear in their inbox? How will they be able to view it?
  • If the recipient's email is programmed for images off (ie, not HTML ready), your card will appear as a link with an identifier that you (the Here Comes the Card member) has sent them a card. They can simply click on the link to view the card, including the image and your text message.
  • I want to make a party invite and send it to 20+ contacts. How do I do this?
  • Great idea. With Here Comes the Card, you can send the same card to up to 10 recipients at a time. Enter their emails individually, separated by a comma between each. To resend the same invite/card to another ten, go to My Cards, select the card and resend it to your next 10 contacts. You can do this as many times as you like. The image, border color and text will remain the same as the original.
  • I sent a card with colored border, but the recipient said the card arrived without color border.
  • The color border omission happens occasionally when a card is sent to a person who uses Entourage as their email program. If possible, please send us an email and let us know what email program the recipient uses, that way we may be able to better locate the bug.
  • I tried to send a card without anything in the RE: field, but it gives me an error message—why?
  • We've found one of the best ways to ensure that your message reaches its recipient/s (and not end up in their spam folder) is to include an RE:. You can enter as few as two letters, but you do need to include something.
  • I am having trouble with the search engine—I enter a key word, but never get a photo result that matches my request.
  • Our search function is tied directly to the Here Comes the Card photograph bank of 500+ images. (with more added each month.) Each photo has various key words associated with it, including its location, description of what is pictured in the photo, and often times the emotive appeal of the photo (love, peace, etc.) It may be that we do not currently have a photo that matches your request. If you send us the key word/s you are using, we can double check it for you, and also add it to our member "wish list."
  • I'd like to have a different font for my text message, is this possible?
  • Right now, we support Arial text, which is a common (and easy to read) font for most email programs.
  • I want to add my own photo and send it as the Here Comes the Card image.
  • Right now, the site features and supports Here Comes the Card images. In the future, we may explore adding features that allow members to add their own images to their cards. We love to hear suggestions regarding new features from our members. Please send your ideas to wish@herecomesthecard.com.
